We're thrilled to announce that former Great British Bake Off contestants Val Stones and Selasi Gbormittah have become ShareThyme ambassadors - and to celebrate, we're giving two lucky people (plus a friend each) the chance to experience a personal baking masterclass.

Val and Selasi first met during GBBO three years ago, where a shared passion for baking acted as a spark for what would become a legendary cross-generational friendship. Their relationship is a shining example of the ShareThyme mission, and the pair are delighted to become campaign ambassadors.

To be in with a chance of winning a half-day masterclass and creating your own showstopper Bakewell tart with Val, Selasi and a friend, simply visit our competition page and submit your details*.

Some heartwarming words about the exciting new partnership:

Val Stones, GBBO “cake whisperer” and semi-retired teacher from Somerset (68): “I love the story behind ShareThyme – the coming together of an older and younger couple of foodies for a cookery-fuelled friendship. It reminds me of myself and Selasi, the way we met on The Great British Bake Off back in 2016 and how our bond has lasted since! We meet up and bake together still, despite living 140 miles apart. I encourage people to join ShareThyme’s community for a chance to grow meaningful relationships – a little closer to home!”

Selasi Gbormittah, GBBO series seven semi-finalist, “motor-baker” and banker (33): “The beautiful thing about both Bake Off and ShareThyme is that whether people are from different backgrounds, or have huge age gaps, they can all get along because of one thing, and that's cooking. When baking with Val, we started chatting and our common interests came into play, because I found out that she loves motorbikes. We always say that she’s my ‘favourite OAP’ and I’m her ‘favourite adopted son’. We also discovered we have the same ridiculous sense of humour. Val can say things and know I won't take offence, and vice versa. But I watch my swearing with her, just like I would with my grandmother.”
